Some people never go crazy….Lucky, we are not those people.

“Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must lead.” – Charles Bukowski

Just thought I’d share a pleasant picture of my wonderfully crazy offspring!

And This picture… Which just proves that 6am is the best time in the world, there is truly nothing more inspiring than hearing the coyotes yip back and forth and the birds start chirping as the sun comes up! Cheers to camp outs in the country:)

Life is Great! Appreciate the small things!

Roost

I officially have a new all time favourite furnishing company, and I am extremely inspired by their catalogue! Their styling is effortless and rustic with modern pops and a very eclectic taste, and I can’t get enough of it *swoon*

May I present Roost, they are carried in stores all over the world and online as well. I dare you to be inspired by this awesomeness! There is also much more inspiration from them after the jump.

How gorgeous is this desk?

OVER THE EDGE!

Well Here is a sneak peek of what I have been working on! I am officially involved in starting a company for awesome modernized wooden furniture featuring barn board, drift wood and hard steel accents! The company is called Over The Edge Designs and our main designer has been building wooden furniture for over 30 years, so you can only imagine the detail and the craftsmanship!

The reason I am announcing the reveal now (a little prematurely) is that we have created our first driftwood table to be auctioned off at The End The Hurts Summer Boat Cruise, in which friends and family of Brittany Crichton will help raise money to help her with her Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. For more Information on our End the Hurts mission, please visit her website at: www.EndTheHurts.com

And without further ado, here is our beautiful Driftwood table, made from reclaimed and salvaged materials and guaranteed as a one of a kind piece.

Seasonal Inspiration

Well Friends, Here it is! This is my inspiration for the next few projects, I’m currently having an affair with vintage tickets, stamps and signage and when I was venturing through Michaels I was instantly in love with these brilliant pieces of scrapbook paper. Not sure what I will do with them yet, but you can bet it will be exciting.

Ear Candy

Hello People,

So I thought I would give you all the brilliant list of songs that end up in my head regardless of who covers it:

Topping the list at the moment is “Little Red Riding Hood” By Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs, been covered by Bowling for Soup and most recently Amanda Seyfried.

Next, would be anything by Matt Nathanson but the song “Run” is currently amazing and on constant loop.

A personal favorite of mine (my dads, and my daughters) is Home by Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeroes. This was the song for my father daughter dance at my wedding and it just has such an upbeat sound and message how can you not love it?

So these are 3 of my current faves! They are classics that will hopefully work their way into your brain just as they have wormed their way into mine.

Love bunches,

Oli’s Room Makeover

It’s a hard thing, designing a room for a 4 year old. It needs to be youthful and girly but no one wants a baby room when your almost 5! So we scrapped the baby stuff and are heading in a more grown up direction! Drum roll please………..TA DA! (For now…)

Summer Bucket List

With the my last school year finally finding its end, I am starting to plan my to do list for the summer. Despite the fact that I will hopefully be working, I am still planning on lots of time for fun crafty things. The list is as follows:

  1. Re-Decorate Oli’s room. Moving away from the baby dragonflies and into a big girl room she can grow with. Including a beautiful Purple Chandelier!

2. Take a trip somewhere with my amazing husband, somewhere warm and tropical with beaches and interesting animals.

3. Do the interior design for my dads house, while simultaneously launching his furniture company.

4. Plan the biggest and bestest fund raiser for my favourite friend, Brittany! Check out http://www.endthehurts.com for info on why we are fund raising.

And lastly, I want a job that pays decent but more importantly allows me some creative freedom with merchandising and window design.

I hope you see posts about all these topics in the near future!
